Books about Yoga

There is so much literature about yoga that sometimes you don’t even know where to start. On this page I recommend books and articles about yoga that are easy and understandable for everybody.

Claire Dederer “Poser: My Life in Twenty-three Yoga Poses” – it is probably my favourite book. In an easy way and with humour, this writer describes her everyday life month after month, year after year drawing parallel with her yoga practice. The readers get to know not only her life story, how and why her certain life principles were formed, why they changed or remained the same but also the history of the whole generation. It is really interesting to read this book but the most important are the conclusions that the author makes at the end, after many years of practising yoga. I recommend this book for everybody who is practising yoga regular.

Radhanath Swami “The Journey Home”– the book is based on the real life story of a young man who decides one day to change his life and goes to India in search of wisdom. For me this is a book how to be constant in your life choice does not matter what the society thinks about it or how complicated your own way is, about trust to yourself and to life. There is also many interesting facts in the book about yoga in India. I recommend this book everybody who starts and continues practising yoga.
